B1 How can we look at the heart instead of outwardly, when deciding someone’s character? 1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.
B2 Israel asked for a king. How did this show their rejection of God? How do we apply that to us?

2 Samuel
B1 How is God great? 2 Samuel 7:22 NKJV Therefore You are great, O Lord GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
B2 Why did David rape Bathsheba?

1 Kings
B1 Why did Solomon fall away? 1 Kings 8:22-24 NKJV Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;  23  and he said: "LORD God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.  24  You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
B2 What is the danger of marrying a non-Christian? 1 Kings 11:4 NKJV For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David.

B1 When people quote this verse, what is usually left out? 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

B2 Do we have the same confidence Job had? Elaborate. Job 19:25-27 NKJV For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;  26  And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,  27  Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

B1 Discuss some things we can learn from the shortest Psalm. Psalms 117:1-2 NKJV  Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!  2  For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!
B2 Name some ways we can use the Psalms today.

B1 Does the book of Proverbs still have benefit today? Explain.
B2 How can we apply this verse to our lives? Proverbs 22:3 NKJV A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished.
